Every board we sell — new, open box, or certified pre-owned — is inspected, tested, and backed by a real warranty. Here is exactly what that means.

Condition Definitions

New

Brand New

Factory-sealed from the manufacturer. Never opened, never powered on, full original packaging and accessories.

Open Box

Open Box

Returned to us in unused or barely-used condition — typically a customer who decided the board did not suit their project. Inspected and verified to be in like-new working order.

  • All accessories verified present
  • Functional and cosmetic inspection passed
Certified Pre-Owned

Certified Pre-Owned

Previously deployed boards that have been bench-tested, reflashed to factory firmware, and visually inspected. May show light cosmetic wear but is fully functional.

  • 60-day Embedded Computers warranty
  • Bench-tested for full I/O functionality
  • Firmware reflashed to factory state
  • Any notable cosmetic wear is disclosed in the listing

Our Inspection Process

  1. Intake & serial verification — every board is logged with its serial number on arrival.
  2. Visual inspection — board, ports, GPIO header, and any heatsinks/connectors are visually checked for damage.
  3. Power-on & boot test — the board is booted from a fresh OS image to verify CPU, RAM, storage, USB, and network are operational.
  4. I/O verification — HDMI/DSI output, USB enumeration, Ethernet link, and (where applicable) Wi-Fi/Bluetooth are tested.
  5. Firmware reset — any user firmware or bootloader changes are reverted to factory state.
  6. Final QC sign-off — listing is created with accurate condition notes and any disclosed wear.

Returns & Support

All items — regardless of condition — are covered by our 14-day no-questions-asked return policy. If a board fails within its warranty period due to a hardware fault, we will replace it or refund you in full.
